Shirlie Roden is an international sound therapist and workshop leader and also co-teaches the School of Life Workshops with Suzi Quatro. A composer/lyricist and concert performer, Shirlie has had six musicals produced on stage and worked with artists such as Ray Davies and the Kinks, Hot Chocolate, Mike Oldfield, David Gilmore and Gordon Giltrap. For thousands of years the power of the human voice to calm, heal and inspire has been recognized by all cultures throughout the world. Instinctively mothers sang lullabies to soothe fretful babies, monks chanted in meditation and people bonded to each other and the rhythm of the earth as they sang work songs. The SOUND HEALING CD features a vocal warm-up followed by simple, practical and effective vocal exercises based on a system of tones and colours linked to the energy centres of the body.
