For the second year running QED provided two stunning ultrawidescreens for the annual Legal Business Awards at the Grosvenor House Hotel.  Having already set the benchmark in top quality ultrawidescreen QED decided that this year's challenge would be to deliver it in the quickest and and most efficient way possible.

Three blended Christie HD18Ks were used for the 46ft x 10ft screen and three blended Christie HD8Ks for the smaller 34.5ft x 7.5ft screen, all fed by one Christie Spyder X20 and six fibre-optic links.

From start to finish the entire show was rigged and lined up within a two hour period.
Wired fibre ethernet control over all projectors combined with a wireless router enabled both screens to be blended by two technicians simultaneously using wireless laptops.

The QED flying frames enabled quick physical adjustment and the projector fibre shoes (specially designed to sit inside the frames) provided all 1080p DVI signals and ethernet control from one input cable.  The Spyder X20 was pre-racked with the network and fibre distribution and (as with all QED systems) pre-tested in the warehouse prior to going on-site.  Installation was simply a question of wheeling everything into place connecting it and then lining it up.

Although the quality was astounding it was the ease and speed and set-up that really proved to be the most astounding thing for this year's show.
