DLP and LCD Projectors

Only properly maintained and matched projectors will do justice to the stunning output of any ultrawidescreen system and this is why QED keeps dedicated sets of matched projectors purely for soft edging applications.

For the very highest quality and to incorporate true HD content QED recommends the use of the latest generation of high definition DLP projectors and in particular the Christie HD8k, HD12k and HD18k machines.  They can all be perfectly matched utilising the internal edge-blending facilities or via external processing units.  The internal "twist modules" enable ultra widescreen images to be seamlessly displayed onto any shape of projection screen or object.

The use of true 16:9 High Defintion projectors for ultra widescreen applications has many advantages.  Apart from the increase in image resolution the native widescreen aspect ratio of these projectors allows you to use fewer projectors and to reduce the number of blend areas.

For LCD projection QED recommends the use of Sanyo XF-47 LCD projectors.  In terms of their brightness, ease of use and value for money the Sanyo XF-47s are the very best and brightest LCD projectors for standard definition live event soft edging applications, providing pin-sharp stable images of extremely high quality and brightness.  The specially developed QED frame and flying system enables pixel precise optical alignment of the projectors with fine adjustment in all planes.
